On Sunday, October 20, in conjunction with the Dunbarton Conservation Commission, Five Rivers hosted more than 80 old and new friends at our Annual Celebration! This year our annual event was held on a glorious fall afternoon at the Dunbarton Elementary School and celebrated the conservation of the Koerber Family Forest (131 acres, conserved in 2021) and the adjacent Layne property (134 acres, conserved in 2024) both in Dunbarton.

Jamie Robertson, Chair of our Board of Trustees, and Liz Short, Executive Director, provided an update on our recent successes and future opportunities. Five Rivers then presented a panel discussion featuring the story of passionate landowners coming together with a community of support to protect natural resources and provide access for recreation and learning.

Following the presentation and panel discussion, most guests opted to walk with Five Rivers and Dunbarton Conservation Commission members on trails leaving from the Dunbarton Elementary School through the Koerber and Layne properties.

We were pleased to have Batulo’s Kitchen food truck on site offering Somali-inspired cuisine – including her famous Meat & Veggie Pies!
