Jamie Robertson, along with his wife and sons, owns and operates the Bohanan Farm and Contoocook Creamery in Hopkinton. He is a native New Hampshire farm boy, growing up on his family’s commercial chicken farm in Gilford. The family had 36,000 laying (egg) chickens and delivered eggs all over central New Hampshire. Jamie’s parents not only encourage his strong love of agriculture but also a love of outdoor spaces in New Hampshire and around the country.

Jamie attended UNH Thompson School of Applied Science and graduated with a degree in animal science. Following graduation, he went to work at the Bohanan Farm fulltime, married Heather Bohanan, and has been at the farm ever since. His sons are the fifth generation of his wife’s family to be part of the farm.

In his adult life Jamie has been involved in NH Farm Bureau, UNH Cooperative Extension, and Farm Credit East. Through his work in these organizations, he has been trained and active in lobbying on the local, state and national level.

In 2010, Jamie worked with Five Rivers, the town of Hopkinton, and NRCS to conserve the Bohanan Farm. After the land was under easement, Jamie decided to widen the scope of the farm. He created the Contoocook Creamery and you can find their milk in traditional glass bottles in many local grocery stores.

Agriculture, forestry, and open space in New Hampshire hold a special place in Jamie’s heart. He is happy to contribute his experiences and expertise to the Five Rivers board.
