Walk the seven-mile West End Farm trail

One of the City of Concord’s newest trails, the West End Farm Trail, which officially opened in 2016, connects Carter Hill Orchard (a Five Rivers protected property) with NH Audubon’s Silk Farm Road property, with many fascinating natural and historic features along the way.

Longtime Five Rivers Conservation Trust volunteer Rob Knight, also a volunteer with the Concord Trails Committee, explained that the trail was conceptualized many years ago, when the Commission was looking for a way to link the four farms on the west side of Concord: Silk Farm (in the south), Dimond Hill Farm, Rossview Farm, and Carter Hill Orchard (in the north). Gaining permission from private landowners along the route was crucial to creating this collection & connection of new and existing trails.

The West End Farm Trail is 7.25 miles long, may be hiked in either direction, and takes about 4.5 hours to walk one way – you’ll want to car-spot!
