Sit silently on any of these conserved properties, and listen for 30 minutes
Sit. Stay. Nature is good for your brain! Five Rivers fans already know that – you’ve felt the peace of mind and clear thinking that follow a hike, a paddle, a “forest bathing” session.
Today’s activity is to find 30 minutes where you can sit in silence on a bit of conserved land. What do you hear? Birds, wind in the trees, the rustle of a scampering squirrel in the brush, crickets, peepers, a twig cracking under a doe’s hoof, distant farm machinery, laughter? Sit, observe, relax, listen, enjoy. Ahhhhhh.
Five Rivers Conservation Trust is a non-profit organization dedicated to conserving open space across the greater Capital Region of New Hampshire. Since 1988, we’ve worked closely with property owners to conserve their land, typically through easements; our organization now serves as the legal holder of conservation easements on more than 70 properties, totaling over 4,400 acres.
And many of those properties are open to the public for recreation… including silence. Click here for a full list of Five Rivers properties.
